APRIL 9TH ....... BRIAN MIX is playing the Saint Saens Cello Concerto #1 this SATURDAY APRIL 9th with the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra, at Shaughnessy Heights United Church, 1550 W 33rd, one block west of Granville on 33rd, at 8pm.
Also you will hear Rachmaninoff's Symphony #2 & Mozart's Idomeneo Overture.
APRIL 14TH ..... PAUL MARLEYN in recital with Sylvia Fraser, accompanist, 7.30 p.m. Koerner Recital Hall at the Academy . Tickets by donation, with tax receipts for donations $25 & over available. There will be a reception following the recital. PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THIS CONCERT, & COME & SUPPORT YOUR CLUB.
APRIL 21ST ..... ADULT MASTERCLASS with Paul. All adult cellists are welcome . To be held in the Vancouver Academy Of Music in the orchestra room or the Koerner recital hall. Mark this as an evening to get the latest tips on how to play the cello. Bring your questions & challenges for Paul to help you with your technique. This is a free class sponsored by your Cello club .
APRIL 22ND ..... STUDENT MASTERCLASSES with Paul 09.30 -12.30 & 1.30 - 4pm. at the Academy. These student classes are open to all members of the Cello club to audit. Yes, it is on Easter Friday.
ADULT MONDAY EVENINGS- END OF APRIL ..... Please note that the date has been MOVED from April 25 to MAY 2ND as the Academy is closed on Easter Monday.
Plus MAY 30TH ....as usual for the end of the month.
JUNE 7TH .... CELLO CLUB AGM @ 7PM. in the Academy. We will have Brian Hoover as our guest speaker, sharing more of his delightful insight & secrets about the making & repair & maintenance of instruments.
